Do you know what Nouveau Riche means?
Basically Nouveau riche is a French word for "new rich" or people who have got new money, which in simpler terms refers to a person who has acquired considerable wealth within his or her lifetime and is not rich from his birth. It is used for the people who were initially part of a lower socioeconomic rank, and later on after attaining wealth, they are having means for the acquisition of goods or luxuries that were previously unobtainable.
There is a great article on some of the Nouveau Riche people, who have become rich because of their entrepreneurial efforts.
